BERLIN, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Faster distribution, online sales growth and higher expectation from customers are going to reshape fresh fruit and vegetable business in the coming decade, according to a latest industry report.
The report was released during Berlin's 3-day Fruit Logistica, a global leading fair in this industry, which will end on Friday.
New trends require closer collaboration between supply chain partners, said the report.
Rainer Munch, the report's lead author, said the supply chain has been "reshaped by the emergence of new market segments and the evolution of consumer demand" in an increasingly globalized and interconnected market.
Munch added that the drive towards greater efficiency and transparency is assisted "by unstoppable technological advance".
