TIRANA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Albanian state police informed Monday that it rescued four Albanian climbers who got trapped on a snowy mountain in the south of the country.
"The four Albanians became stuck on Sotir Mountain, 270 km south of the capital, Tirana," Defense Ministry spokeswoman Albana Qehajaj told reporters.
The four climbers had fallen into a hole in a mountain on Sunday.
Qehahaj informed that after receiving the emergency call, an army helicopter was sent to the rescue but the intervention was impossible due to the difficult terrain.
Albanian authorities later sent a state police special force on the rescue mission who found them with some injures and transported them safely to hospital.
