TOKYO, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday following overnight declines on Wall Street.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 88.01 points, or 0.40 percent, from Monday to 21,736.02.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 7.36 points, or 0.42 percent, at 1,733.94.
Oil and coal product, mining and nonferrous metal-liked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
