TOKYO, March 19 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell to the upper 105 yen zone Monday in Tokyo due to the widening of a cut-price land deal scandal implicating Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 105.90-91 yen compared with 105.93-106.03 yen in New York and 105.65-66 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday. It moved between 105.68 yen and 106.15 yen during the day.
The euro fetched 1.2266-2268 dollars and 129.90-94 yen against 1.2285-2295 dollars and 130.27-37 yen in New York and 1.2317-2319 dollars and 130.13-17 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
