TOKYO, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks reversed earlier losses on concerns of a global trade war to close higher Monday as investors bought back cheaper shares following the market tanking on Friday.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 148.24 points, or 0.72 percent, from Friday to close the day at 20,766.10.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 6.38 points, or 0.38 percent, to finish at 1,671.32.
Mining, rubber product and chemical-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
