TOKYO, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Thursday morning as investor sentiment was bolstered by U.S. shares gaining markedly overnight and on receding concerns over international trade frictions.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 214.12 points, or 0.95 percent, from Wednesday to 22,839.85.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 12.16 points, or 0.68 percent, to 1,789.75.
Nonferrous metal, chemical and securities-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
