BANGKOK, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Another arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for former Thai leader Thaksin Shinawatra, who is allegedly involved in a bank loan scandal over a decade ago.
The Supreme Court judges in charge of criminal lawsuits against politicians issued the arrest warrant.
Over the last decade, Thaksin has been given several arrest warrants by court involving other lawsuits but has been apparently unresponsive to them.
After a law was revised in 2017, the lawsuit could practically be proceeded in court in absentia of Thaksin, who is unlikely to return to Thailand as defendant in court.
