ISLAMABAD, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani military has arrested five militants in an operation conducted in the country's southwest Balochistan province on Thursday, official reports said.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the mouthpiece of Pakistan army, said in a statement that the security forces launched the operation on an intelligence tip-off regarding presence of the militants in the Sibi district of the province.
Identities of the arrested militants have not been revealed by the military.
The forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and communication equipment in the raid which was a continuation of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad (rejecting discord) in the country.
Launched in February last year, the joint operation by the army and other law enforcement agencies aims at eradication of hidden sleeper cells of militants in the country.
