TOKYO, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Monday as the market mood was dented by the business sentiment survey released by the Bank of Japan (BOJ) coming in below par.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 41.44 points, or 0.19 percent, from Friday to 22,263.07.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 1.85 points, or 0.11 percent, at 1,729.04.
Rubber product, retail and food-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
