ISLAMABAD, July 6 (Xinhua) -- At least 15 people were killed and more than 25 others injured in a fatal road crash involving three vehicles in Pakistan's southern Sindh province on Friday, local Urdu TV channels reported.
According to police, a speedy passenger van first hit a coach and then crashed into a car, killing nine people on the spot and injuring several others. Six among the injured people succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to a nearby hospital.
The deadly collision occurred on Mehran Highway in Nawabshah district of the province, Geo News reported.
The injured people including women and children have been shifted to the Peoples Medical Hospital in the district where emergency has been declared.
Police said that over-speeding of the van seems to be the cause of the accident, but further investigations are underway.
Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan, mainly due to poorly maintained vehicles, dilapidated roads and negligence of road safety measures.
Traffic police officials say that most of the accidents happen in the country mainly due to human error.?
