SEOUL, July 11 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's economy added 106,000 jobs in June from a year earlier, with jobless rate standing at 3.7 percent in the month, a government report showed Wednesday.
The total number of those employed was 27,126,000 in June, up 106,000 from a year earlier, according to Statistics Korea.
Workers hired by manufacturers retreated 126,000 in June from a year ago, marking a downward trend for the third consecutive month. Those employed by educational service and facility management service firms also reduced last month.
The number of those unemployed totaled 1,034,000 in June, down 26,000, or 2.5 percent, from a year earlier.
Jobless rate shed 0.1 percentage point over the year to 3.7 percent in June. The unemployment rate for those aged 15-29 declined 1.4 percentage points to 9.0 percent.
