TEHRAN, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that the U.S. hostilities toward the Islamic republic will fail.

In reference to U.S. "conspiracies" against Iran over the past 40 years, Rouhani said Washington "is more than ever hated by Islamic and regional countries."

"We have no doubt that the United States cannot continue the path and policy that it has taken regarding the Islamic world and its allies," he added.

Iran will continue its interactions with friendly governments of the world, the Iranian president vowed.

"The U.S. will fail in its new plots," he said, referring to the impending U.S. sanctions against Tehran.

On May 8, U.S. President Donald Trump decided to quit the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal and vowed to re-impose sanctions, including oil embargo, on Tehran, saying the deal fails to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons or supporting terrorism in the region.

Last month, the U.S. State Department said the U.S. allies should stop oil imports from Iran by Nov. 4.

Trump has asked Saudi Arabia to increase its oil exports to compensate the gap in the market in case Iran's crude exports drop.
