TOKYO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Thursday morning as buying outweighed profit-taking with investor sentiment bolstered by Wall Street's solid overnight rise which lifted blue chips here.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 69.11 points, or 0.30 percent, from Wednesday to 22,863.30.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 6.27 points, or 0.36 percent, to 1,757.48.
Mining, oil and coal product, and machinery-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
