NEW DELHI, July 26 (Xinhua) -- India's equity benchmark index BSE Sensex hit a record high of the 37,000-mark Thursday, amid strong buys by domestic investors and global cues.
The Sensex mounted to 37,026.18 intra-day.
Stock market analysts attributed the fresh high to strong domestic buying following good June quarter results by most bluechip companies and global developments.
The state-owned State Bank of India, telecom major Bharti Airtel, largest heavy vehicle maker Tata Motors and FMCG giant ITC were the biggest contributors to the markets.
