ULAN BATOR, Aug.1 (Xinhua) -- Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh has ordered a taskforce to improve social welfare policies and legal regulations for the homeless, the government press office said Wednesday.
The taskforce is headed by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sodnom Chinzorig.
Mongolia has a population of over 3 million, 1,375 of whom are homeless. More than half of them are between the age of 18 and 45, according to data from the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.
Most of the homeless population live on the streets in capital city Ulan Bator.
