MOSCOW, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Russia will hold military parades across the country and in its naval base in Syria to celebrate its Navy Day on July 28, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday.
Shoigu said at a meeting with the leadership of the armed forces that 43 warships and 41 aircraft equipped with the latest weapons as well as more than 4,000 troops and military personnel will participate in the events in St. Petersburg and Kronshtadt.
He added that naval parades will also be held at the main bases of the Russian fleets and the Caspian flotilla -- in Severomorsk, Baltiysk, Sevastopol, Vladivostok, Astrakhan and the Syrian port of Tartus.
According to the defense minister, 26 foreign military delegations will take part in the celebrations of the Russian Navy Day, which is marked annually on the last Sunday of July.
