GAZA/RAMALLAH, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- One Palestinian was killed and dozens others injured on Friday afternoon in another day of rage and clashes with Israeli soldiers in the Palestinian territories, medics said.
Ashraf al Qedra, health ministry spokesman in Gaza told reporters that Zakareya Kafarna, 24, was killed by live gunshots during clashes between dozens of youths and Israeli soldiers at the borders between eastern Gaza and Israel.
Hundreds of Gaza youths threw stones at the Israeli army forces in the east of Khan Younis. Three were shot and injured, and one was critically injured after he tried to cut the fence and throw stones on the soldiers, according to eyewitnesses and paramedics.
Protests in the Palestinian territories have been escalating with violent clashes between the Palestinians and the Israeli security forces since Dec. 6, when U.S. President Donald Trump declared that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
Yehya Sinwar, Gaza Hamas chief said in a meeting with dozens of Gaza youths, that Friday should be a day of confrontation with the occupation forces (Israeli army) on the borders with Gaza.
Hamas leaders have also called on an ongoing Intifada against Israel until toppling Trump's declaration.
Since Trump's Jerusalem decision, Israel have killed 12 Palestinians and more than 3,706 were injured, including 924 being treated in hospitals. Around 500 protesters have been detained by Israeli forces.
