UNITED NATIONS, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Thursday condemned the attacks on the Tabyan Cultural Center as well as a media outlet in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan.
In a statement, his spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said that "the Secretary-General extends his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured. "
"He expresses his solidarity with the people and the Government of Afghanistan. He firmly believes that a peace process is the only path to ensure Afghanistan's stability," Dujarric added.
At least 40 people were killed and more than 20 others injured after a twin suicide attacks and an ensuing bomb blast rocked a cultural center in the western neighborhood of Kabul Thursday, authorities said.
The initial findings showed that 40 people were killed and over 20 others injured in the terrorist attacks.
