XINING, China, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- In the finals of China's curling Tournament on Friday evening, Harbin's first team won the men's title as it beat Harbin's third team 5-2, and Jiangyilun's team won the women's crown by beating Heilongjiang's first team 9-6.
During the men's finals, Harbin's first team got a flying start in the first end 2-0, extended their lead to 3-0 before Harbin's third team cut it to 3-1 with one point in 4th end.
After they took one point respectively in 5th and 6th end, Harbin's first team romped against Harbin's third team 5-2, and Harbin's third team was forced to concede the final two ends.
Harbin's third team won the silver medal, and Zhejiang's provincial team bag the bronze medal by beating Heilongjing's first team 12-5.
In the women's finals, Jiangyilun's team fought tight with Heilongjiang's first team and tie for 6 in the first 8 ends. In the ninth end, Jiangyilun's team, as the second thrower, took 3 points, and finished the finals for gold medal 9-6.
Harbin's first team won the silver medal, and Jilin's provincial team took bronze medal in women's field.
"We had much pressure in the finals, not from the rival, but from the altitude sickness. Several members felt dizzy and fell victim to altitude stress during the competition," said Zou Dejia, the team leader of Harbin's first team, "but we tried hard to overcome the impact of it and won the finals."
Starting on Dec. 24, China's National Curling Tournament has attracted 30 teams from all over China.
