SEOUL, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- An advance team of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday toured the performance facilities in the South Korean capital to prepare for concerts during the upcoming South Korea-hosted Winter Olympics.
The 7-member advance team came by land route to South Korea Sunday, visiting the performance facilities in the east city of Gangneung near the PyeongChang county where the 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games are slated to run from February to March.
The advance team arrived in Seoul by bus on Monday to check the performance facilities in the capital city. The DPRK has agreed to send a 140-member orchestra for concerts in Seoul and Gangneung during the Winter Olympics.
Pyongyang also promised to send its athletes, cheerleaders and a demonstration team of Taekwondo, a traditional Korean martial art, to PyeongChang.
The advance team will travel back by the same land route in the western region to the DPRK later in the day.
