BEIRUT, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's President Michel Aoun signed Monday a decree officially setting the upcoming parliamentary elections for May 6, according to the National News Agency (NNA).
The decree came amid fears that the vote would be postponed.
The bill sets the date for local voters to cast their ballot on May 6 and also designates May 3 for employees participating in the elections to cast their ballots, the report said.
The Lebanese expatriates in Arab countries will be able to cast their votes on April 27 and those in North and South America, Europe and Africa will vote on April 29.
