TRIPOLI, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Three children were killed in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Monday by unexploded ordnance in the city.
"Unexploded ordnance killed three children when they were playing near the social security building," Benghazi's Joint Central Security Chamber said in a statement.
The Chamber confirmed that no reports of additional casualties were reported.
The Chamber warned parents and residents against approaching any unknown objects and demanded them to immediately report any suspicious objects.
Landmines and unexploded ordnance have killed army soldiers and civilians in Benghazi, which has witnessed violent war for more than three years between the eastern-based army and terrorist groups before the army took over the whole city later last year.
