LAGOS, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's home-based team the Super Eagles qualified for the finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Wednesday night, their first time ever doing so, after edging Sudan 1-0 in the semifinal played in Marrakech.
The Nigerians will meet hosts Morocco on Sunday, who earlier spanked Libya 3-1.
Gabriel Okechukwu scored Nigeria's winning goal in the 16th minute.
Earlier, hosts Morocco advanced into the final, following a 3-1 defeat of Libya after extra time on Wednesday.
The first semifinal match, played in Casablanca, saw the hosts once again inspired by Ayoub El Kaabi, who scored two goals to take his tournament tally to eight overall.
Morocco and Nigeria will meet in the final on Sunday.
