ISLAMABAD, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Police in Pakistan's capital Islamabad has arrested four suspected militants during a search operation in various areas on Tuesday, officials said.
Najeeb ur Rehman Bugvi, senior superintendent of Islamabad police, said the search operation was conducted at the outskirts of the capital, and the police also recovered arms and ammunition from the custody of the four arrested suspects.
He added that the operation was jointly conducted by police and paramilitary troops rangers.
The cops recovered 12 bore gun, one short gun, two pistols and 121 rounds from the militants who have been shifted to some unknown place for investigations.
The official said the operation was conducted to provide security to residents of the capital.
Identity of the arrested suspects has not been revealed yet.
