KAMPALA, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Uganda national Cricket team has traveled to Qatar for a series of international build-up games.
Head coach Steve Tikolo told Xinhua in an interview on Tuesday before the team departed that playing international friendly games in Qatar and India in the next ten days will help his team to prepare better ahead of the forthcoming ICC Division 4 tournament.
"We now have a blend of senior and young players and facing well established teams on this tour which will help us to get the right formations," added the former Kenyan international.
New captain Roger Mukasa also highlighted the importance of the tour saying it will help the team members to plan better. David Katende, the assistant general secretary at the National Council of Sports (NCS) wished the team well as he flagged them off. "Make use of the tour and kindly carry our flag high," added Katende.
