NEW DELHI, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben was injured in a car-truck collision in the western state of Rajasthan Wednesday, in which one of her relatives was killed and four others sustained minor injuries, police said.
The accident occurred near Katunda area in the state's Chittorgarh district when Modi's wife and her relatives were returning to their homestate of Gujarat from a wedding in Rajasthan on a sports utility vehicle (SUV), Shyam Singh, in-charge of Parsoli police station, told the media.
The injured have been rushed to a government hospital.
"Preliminary investigation suggests that the SUV was behind a truck which was being driven recklessly. Suddenly the truck driver steered the vehicle to the side which resulted in SUV colliding with the back of the truck," said Rakesh Rajora, another police officer.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official said, adding that the truck has been seized and the driver arrested.
