LONDON, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- David Davis, Britain's Brexit Secretary and a staunch Brexiter, has criticized a leaked EU plan to cut Britain's access to the single market during a Brexit transition period, the BBC reported on Thursday.
A leaked draft EU paper proposed that in the event of dispute during the transition period, EU might suspend Britain's access to the single market, according to the report.
David Davis was quoted by the BBC as saying that it had not been "in good faith" to publish it, and every economic forecast about Brexit had been "proven wrong so far".
Davis made the remarks after meetings of the Brexit cabinet committee.
The transition period is expected to begin straight after Britain officially leaves the EU on 29 March 2019, and end on 31 December 2020.
