JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Two militants of the Islamic State (IS) group were killed in a drone strike launched by NATO and U.S.-led coalition forces in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar, the provincial government said Saturday.
"The strike occurred in Bandaar locality of Achin district on Friday," it said in a statement, adding that no civilian was hurt in the attack.
The IS group, which emerged in Nangarhar in early 2015, has yet to make comment on the report.
On Friday, security forces defused an improvised explosive device (IED) in neighboring Ghani Khil district, averting a possible explosion there, the statement added.
Also on Friday, three civilians were killed and two others wounded when an IED was detonated in a cricket ground in Nangarhar's Bati Kot district.
