MAIMANA, Afghanistan, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Four militants were killed in government forces operations in northern Afghanistan, an army spokesman said on Saturday.
The operations were still underway against armed groups in the Pashtunkot district of Faryab province, said Ghulam Hazrat Karimi, the army spokesman in the northern region.
The security forces, according to the official, targeted Taliban hideouts in Sang-e-Zard area of the district, and in addition to killing four militants, they also injured four others.
Karimi asserted that the operations would continue until the area is cleared of the insurgents.
Taliban militants who are in control of parts of Pashtunkot district and adjoining areas haven't commented yet. Enditem
