TOKYO, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning on concerns of the future course of the U.S. administration after President Donald Trump fired Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 227.30 points, or 1.03 percent, from Tuesday to 21,740.80.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped down 10.02 points, or 0.57 percent, at 1,741.01.
Mining, metal product and retail-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
