LONDON, March 15 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 7.07 points or 0.10 percent at 7,139.76 points.
Standard Life Aberdeen, the British asset management firm, soared 1.83 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Tesco and Smiths Group rose by 1.76 percent and 1.75 percent, respectively.
Micro Focus International, the British software and information technology business, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.63 percent.
