BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- China is aiming to achieve "important progress" in building the southern island province of Hainan into a pilot free trade zone by 2020, according to a document unveiled Saturday.

The document on supporting Hainan's efforts to deepen reform and opening up was jointly released by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council.
