MADRID, April 19 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish sports network, 'beIN' sports confirmed on Thursday that it will start broadcasting live games from the Chinese Super League from the coming weekend.
The decision reflects the growing importance of the competition which has spent large amounts of money in recent months to buy players who are well known in Spain, such as former Atletico Madrid trio, Yannick Carrasco, Nico Gaitan and Augusto Fernandez, former Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano, the ex-Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu and Jonathan Viera.
It is also expected that the popular Spain international and Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta will also announce a move to the Chinese Super League before the end of April.
The first game to be shown is Saturday's match between Guangzhou R&F FC and Shandong Luneng Taishan FC.
A spokesman for beIN told Xinhua that the channel was "delighted to be able to incorporate the Chinese Super league, which is an emerging competition with players who have played in Spain."
"With this acquisition, beIN is strengthening its promise to offer the best international football to its subscribers."
