Zheng Haiyang, a survivor who lost his legs in the 8.0-magnitude 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, sits on a wheelchair and is helped by his mother to visit the new Beichuan Middle School in Beichuan County, southwest China's Sichuan Province, May 8, 2018. Ten years ago, Zheng, then a 17-year-old student at Beichuan Middle School, was extricated 22 hours after he was trapped in the rubble of the school building in Beichuan County. Beichuan was one of the worst-hit areas when the catastrophic earthquake struck Sichuan's Wenchuan County on May 12, 2008. Zheng was a survivor of the earthquake that left more than 80,000 people dead or missing. Beichuan County has been rebuilt in a new location, and the experience of being helped after the quake has also shaped the life of Zheng. Zheng now is the CEO of Jiaxiansheng, a Chengdu-based online medical service platform for disabled people. He devoted his efforts to assisting the disabled by offering information on rehabilitation hospitals and equipments. (Xinhua/Zhang Fan)
