BEIJING, May 14 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday called for "thriving philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics in the new era."
"Scholars in the field should grasp the right political direction in their research," said Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, at a meeting on National Social Science Fund of China projects.
"Basing their work on Chinese practice with a focus on Chinese problems, scholars should strengthen strategic, prospective study that takes into account the whole landscape," Huang said.
