KUWAIT CITY, May 14 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah condemned on Monday terrorist attacks on three churches in the city of Surabaya in Indonesia.
In a cable of condolences sent to the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo, the Kuwaiti emir affirmed Kuwait's strong condemnation and denouncement of such terrorist acts that target innocent lives and contradict all humanitarian doctrines and values.
He expressed sincere condolences and sorrow to the Indonesian president and people over victims of the terrorist blasts that killed 13 and wounded scores of people.
He also affirmed Kuwait's support to all measures taken by the Indonesian authorities to face terrorist acts and preserve the country's security and stability.
A total of 13 people were killed and scores of others injured as suicide bombers blew themselves during congregations in three churches in Surabaya city, capital of Indonesia's East Java province, on Sunday.
The deadly blasts took place in Santa Maria church in Ngagel Madya area, Gereja Kristen Indonesia church on Diponegoro street and Pantekosta church on Arjuno street.
