LUANDA, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Angolan government strongly condemned Tuesday the violence perpetrated by Israeli forces against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and called on the parties to exercise restraint and resume negotiations.
In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Angolan government has been following with great concern the latest developments in the Palestinian territory where dozens of people were killed or injured.
The note added that the violent situation in the territory undermines the efforts of the international community to ensure a process of negotiation based on UN resolutions that establish the existence of two states as the "only just and lasting solution".
The latest Israel-Palestine conflict was flared up by the relocation on Monday of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Enditem
