JAKARTA, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's modern pentathlon squad is training in South Korea prior to participating in the Asian Games this year. Six athletes left for South Korea on May 27.
"By having the training the athletes are expected to get a boost in their quality," the chairman of the Indonesian modern pentathlon association Anthony C. Sunarjo said. The chairman says athletes must work and train hard.
The modern pentathlon is a combination of five sports; horse racing, fencing, swimming, shooting and running.
To gauge the level of athletes' capabilities, Indonesia will send the
athletes to the Netherlands to compete in the Dutch Open Coubertin Cup
from June 26 to July 2.
The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and in Palembang city, the provincial capital of South Sumatra province. The event will take place from August 18 to September 2.
