TOKYO, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks edged higher Tuesday morning as investors moved to secure profits made following the market's gains a day earlier.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 21.95 points, or 0.10 percent, from Monday to 22,497.89.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 1.37 points, or 0.08 percent, at 1,773.32.
Rubber product, miscellaneous product and marine transportation issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break, while mining, oil and coal product and securities issues comprised notable decliners.
