JAKARTA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian diving squad will have a training camp in China this monthin order to better prepare for the Asian Games, Indonesia team coach Herly Rahmawati confirmed Wednesday.
A total of eight Indonesian divers will take part in the training with three of them departing earlier and the rest will follow up days later, according to Rahmawati.
The three athletes left on Wednesday and will be back home along with the other five on August 16 or 17, a day ahead of the kickoff the Games, Rahmawati revealed.
Given the diving sport is scheduled to be held on August 28, the coach said that the athletes will have about ten days to beef up preparations at home.
Rahmawati said that the decision to choose China for the training is because the country has completely supporting facilities coupled with the excellent achievement of the country's athletes in diving.
"Those will make out athletes more focusing on the exercise," the coach added.
Rahmawati is upbeat over the early-departed three athletes' prospect for medals during the multi-sport event to be held in Indonesian capital of Jakarta and Palembang city, the provincial capital of South Sumatra province from August 18 to September 2.
Diving is part of the Asian Games since the first edition of the continental tournament in 1951 held in New Delhi.
