TOKYO, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks retreated slightly Friday morning as investors took to taking profits after the Nikkei's four-day winning streak.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged down 23.57 points, or 0.1 percent, from Thursday to 22,799.69.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, shed 0.03 points to 1788.98.
Oil and coal product, iron and steel, and securities company-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
