SARAJEVO, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Oscar-winning director Pawel Pawlikowski's movie "Cold war" will open this year's Sarajevo Film Festival on Aug. 10, organizers have announced.
Pawlikowski will attend the festival to introduce his latest film to the audience. The Polish director won Best Director award at the 71st Cannes Film Festival this year for his film "Cold war".
"Cold war" is a passionate love story between two persons of different backgrounds and temperaments, who are fatally mismatched and yet fatefully condemned to each other.
Pawlikowski visited Sarajevo in 2014 to present his film "Ida" at the 20th Sarajevo Film Festival, and the film won the Oscar for best foreign language film.
The Sarajevo Film Festival, launched in 1995, has become a leading cultural event in the Balkan region. The 24th Sarajevo Film Festival is scheduled to open on Aug. 10 and run until Aug. 17.
