KUWAIT CITY, June 20 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) will hold the 21st International Music Festival in Hawalli Governorate in late June, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said on Wednesday.
Sponsored by Ministry of Information and Ministry of State for Youth Affairs of Kuwait, the event will be held from June 23 to 28. Different music bands, troupe and folkloric arts coming from China, Bahrain, Kuwait and Turkey will participate in this event, KUNA said.
As a part of the festival, a Chinese cultural show, to be performed by artists from Guangxi Culture and Art Troupe, will be held on June 24 in Kuwait, Zhu Xi, director of cultural office of the Chinese Embassy to Kuwait, told Xinhua.
NCCAL holds the musical gala annually to highlight Kuwaiti heritage in the minds of the new generation, while showcasing Arabic and foreign creativity. The first International Music Festival was held in 1998.
