MINSK, June 27 (Xinhua) -- The Contact Group on Ukraine has agreed on a ceasefire in the conflict zone in east Ukraine starting from Sunday, the OSCE's special representative in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine Martin Sajdik said here on Wednesday.
Following the TCG's meeting in Minsk on Wednesday, Sajdik said that the TCG adopted a statement that took into account the beginning of the harvesting campaign.
The conflicting parties have reaffirmed their full commitment to a comprehensive, sustainable and timeless ceasefire from July 1, the diplomat said.
Sajdik also said the parties confirm their complete and firm commitment to the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
The next meeting of the TCG will be held in Minsk on July 11.
The TCG is a group of representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) that was formed to facilitate a diplomatic solution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
