SYDNEY, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola stunned fans and players on Thursday evening when he took time out of his Australian holiday, to visit sister-club Melbourne City FC.
"It was a surprise meet and greet a very special guest," Melbourne City FC midfielder Dario Vidosic said. "There were many shocked faces when he walked in."
Securing his first English Premier League title with Manchester City in May, the Spanish manager has also won numerous trophies with European superpowers Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Melbourne City is owned by City Football Group, and the Premier League champions keep close contact with their Australian branch and have been known to scout local talent from down under.
During the 2016-17 season, Australian star midfielder Aaron Mooy who recently featured in the Russia World Cup, was snapped up by the blue half of Manchester after impressing Guardiola's coaching staff.
Before he left Melbourne, Guardiola also paid a visit to Melbourne City FC's Football Academy to keep a close eye on any promising youngsters.
