TOKYO, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Wednesday as investor sentiment was dented after the United States said it will slap additional tariffs.
As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 182.16 points, or 0.82 percent, from Tuesday to 22,014.73.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 11.94 points, or 0.70 percent, at 1,704.19.
Marine transportation, textile and apparel, and insurance-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes from the morning bell. Enditem
