KUNMING, July 13 (Xinhua) -- An international flower show to boost industry exchange opened Friday in China's prominent flower export base Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The 19th China Kunming International Flower Show received more than 3,000 entrepreneurs, officials and flower artists from countries including Vietnam, Netherlands, Israel, Japan, and Germany.
"The event aims to create a platform for connecting Kunming with a wider market," said Wang Pinghua, deputy director of the Department of Agriculture in Yunnan.
The 2018 China International Family Garden Flower Show and the 18th China Flower Retail Industry Conference are held during the same period.
Kunming accounts for 70 percent of the domestic flower market. Dounan flower market, the biggest in Kunming, sold 6.5 billion flowers to more than 50 countries and regions in 2017.
