TOKYO, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened lower Monday amid market concerns over trade conflicts.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 224.01 points, or 0.99 percent, from Friday to 22,473.87.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 2.25 points, or 0.13 percent, at 1,742.73.
Decliners were led by oil and coal product, electric appliance and marine transportation issues.
