GUANGZHOU, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and eight people remain trapped after a truck overturned and fell on two cars Wednesday in south China's Guangdong Province, according to the local police.

The accident occurred at around 2: 40 p.m. Wednesday near Youmayuan Village, Huidong County. A cement tanker truck overturned and fell on two cars passing by.

Of the eleven people trapped, three have been pulled out. One of the three died while being sent to hospital, according to the local police.

Rescue of the eight trapped people is still going on.
