ISLAMABAD, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani law enforcement agencies foiled a major terror bid in the eastern Punjab province and arrested two terrorists during an operation, local media reported on Friday.
According to reports, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Intelligence Bureau on Friday carried out a joint operation near Satellite Town area of Gujranwala city in the province, and two terrorists belonging to the banned outfit were arrested in the operation.
CTD spokesperson said that the arrested terrorists were planning to target the residents of the city, adding that the suspects have been shifted to an undisclosed location and are currently being interrogated.
The CTD personnel also recovered a large amount of explosive material, ball bearings and detonators from the arrested terrorists.
A case has also been registered against the nabbed terrorists, according to local media.
